Long time....

So it has been a while since my last blog, and I am not real sure why. The only reason I can think of is I wanted to post before and after pictures of the floor, and I can only do it from the desktop but haven't been on it long enough. Soooo here are some before and after pictures of our floor.

The floors look sooo much nicer! That weekend actually went pretty smoothly. Well, other than Allisyn not letting Michael help too much. He had worked evenings all week and she did not get as much Daddy time as she is used to.

This past weekend also went pretty well. Some know that the relationship with my mom is not the strongest it has ever been right now. She was in town this weekend helping watch Allisyn so I could go to and help with some baby showers. Michael and I also got to go to a friend's house warming party. Alli and mam-maw had a good weekend.

Last night I went to a prenatal yoga class! It was really nice. My quads are pretty sore today, but other than that I'm doing ok! Other than walking, I have not done much in the way of physical fitness for quite a while. Though Michael and I are thinking about joining a gym near by that a lot of people in our class at church go to. It may be what we need for motivation. We shall see. Not much else going on here.

I just want to add that I REALLY detest Blogger's spellcheck telling me my daughter's name is misspelled. It is NOT! Sorry just had to get that out.

FPU update and a busy weekend

We have finished FPU! We are glad we did it and we have our budget set up that makes us both able to BREATHE! It is nice not having to stress about it. Now we actually know where the $ is going to! It is really nice!

This weekend I will have a house full of in-laws who are coming up to help us install our new flooring! Luckily we have a pretty big house because it seems like everyone might be staying here! I am so ready to get rid of the carpet in the living room! I will post before and after pictures. I'm pretty excited to get it done. For those of you who might have this question in the back of your mind, YES this is being done in a financially peaceful way!

I picked up Piper's bedding today!! If you are curious to see it you can look here. We got put on a waiting list of about 40 people for her bed. They were pretty certain it should be fulfilled by the time Piper comes!

Well off to do some more preping for the floor install!

Toddler Rules and Toddle Time

I've read more condensed versions of the Toddler Rules before, and I love it everytime! It is so true. I hope you enjoy it! Just a quick note on Toddle Time. It is for children 2yrs old during worship time. Michael and I were the leaders on Sunday. Let's just say Michael and I and 11 toddlers was a bit overwhelming. Especially when you have a poopy diaper and it took us 10 minutes to figure out who it was. We did survive, but I'm not sure we will be signing up the next time around. Who knows, maybe we will have forgotten about it by then!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the list! I know many of you will be able to relate to it as well, if not better than me!

I have figured out....

how to get my wonderful husband to get stuff done! Especially on a Friday that he has off. Hide the remotes and tell him he cannot watch Survivor until certain things are finished! I was totally mean. He did take a break at lunch and got to eat and watch his show, but he is now back to working on the to do list while Alli takes her nap. He had his poker night last night and Allisyn gave me quite the time getting to bed and woke up with some tummy troubles that were not fun to deal with. Who did she want? Daddy, of course. I refrained from telling her what I was really thinking about my wonderful husband at the time, and I told her all she had was mommy. Luckily we got through it and she went back to sleep and slept most of the night.

On the list of things that got finished this morning, the 4Runner got washed and vacuumed! It still needs to be cleaned out some on the inside, but it is the cleanest it has been in a looong time! And Allisyn's bed is getting assembled. In Michael's defense on this item, we have been waiting well over a month for the parts they did not include to come in the mail. Now that he bed will be finished, we really do not have an excuse not to plunge ahead and attempt the task of getting her to sleep in her own bed. I'm really trying to be optimistic about it, but we have not had the best of luck in this area.

Other exciting news, ok it is probably only exciting for me but, we got our hardwood floors ordered on Wednesday!! Lowes was having a sale where any special ordered flooring you saved 20% on. Did I get exactly what I wanted? No. I really would love to be eco-friendly and have really really gorgeous floors, but our budget would not allow $8-14 dollars per square foot of flooring. Yep, that is how much my favorites were running. We have a few other things that we need to be spending our $ on. Like Piper's furniture and paint and LIFE.

Bobbles. PLeeeeazzz!

Allisyn loves bubbles. We have to blow bubbles at minimum 5 times a day. Inside or outside, it doesn't matter to Alli. She loves them. She is such a little ham about asking too. She does this little half bend and cheeses really big and draws out her "Pllleeeeeaaaaasssseee!" while doing the sign for it. It is precious. I need to get it on video. We actually videoed her some yesterday! GASP! We have not done a good job at getting much footage of Alli, we need to do better.

Anyway, yesterday she was playing with some measuring cups hitting them while singing and dancing around! It was hilarious. I'm glad we got it on tape.

Still not a lot of sleep going on. We are really praying that changes soon. I'm pooped.

Oh and come to find out, out alarm company lost their phone lines from Saturday night until yesterday. So our house could have burned down or something and they would not have been any help. How did we find this out? We set off the alarm on purpose so they would call us. Allisyn was awake for this one, and her response was "Uh-OH!"

Another Rough Night

Yesterday was a good day. We got to catch up with our neighbors. We haven't talked to them much over the winter. They were having a small garage sale and gave Alli a stuffed animal. Like we needed another, but it was sweet of them. They told us where they had bought their flooring and told us how much square footage they had put down. They have the same floor plan as us. The only difference is their attic was not opened up like ours. So then we went and looked at some flooring. Have not made a choice, but we have an idea. We have decided to go with hardwood instead of laminate. We knew it was going to be more expensive, but we still had a bit of sticker shock! We just keep telling ourselves it is an investment and it will last a long time.

Then we came home and played outside some and then Alli took a nap. She actually napped in her own bed! Then she got up and fell back asleep on dad on the couch. It was cute. We also got a visit from my brother and SIL. It was nice to see them and get to spend some time with them. Allisyn absolutely adores her Uncle Dustin! I'm pretty sure he thinks she is something special too! Then our friends Jeremy and Natashia came over to watch the Kansas playoff game. We ordered some Chinese and had a good time. We tried to play a game, but Allisyn really wanted to join in making it hard.

We got to bed a little later than usual. Then we had a very rude awakening. Our alarm went off. It is very loud and scary. The back door was not dead-bolted when the dogs were brought in for the night and it came back open. For some reason Michael could not get it go off. As soon as I ran in and put in the code it hushed. The really bad thing, the alarm company never called us to see if we were ok. They still haven't gotten a hold of us. We have tried calling them, but we keep getting a busy signal. We have some code on the system that we can't get to clear, but we cannot get a hold of them to get it off. We aren't real happy with them right now.

Allisyn can sleep through the alarm. Which is nice when it is something like the door coming open and nothing really serious, but it really freaks me out if something were to really happen and she needed to wake up. That is one good thing about her still sleeping with us, if we needed to get out she is right there.

After sleeping through the alarm, she was up and down for the rest of the night. She had a night where she wanted momma. Usually daddy is requested at night, but not last night. Once we finally got back to sleep I was pretty worn out. I did not want to get up for church this morning, but I did. We all did, and we made it on time! This afternoon we spent a lot of time outside. Alli and Michael went for a bike ride and a walk and played "tennis" and blew bubbles. I worked on cleaning the garage. It looks a lot better. Once we get things rearranged again, it will be really nice.

Allisyn played hard all day. She took a nap on the way to church and slept all the way through service. She woke up at home when Michael kept trying to lay her in a bed. We are praying that she will go to sleep when we go to bed and actually sleep through the night. I don't think it will be a good day for mom tomorrow if I don't get some sleep.

Long Day

It started with Allisyn waking up at 530. Yes, in the a.m. After 6 we gave in and turned on the TV for her and she kind of let us rest a little more. Of course she crawled all over us thinking it was great fun. Not a wonderful way to start the day. Luckily Michael works the late shift and he was there to help with her. He was also able to make it to my OB appointment. Everything is looking good! I am now to the point where I can go the special urgent care just for pregnant women over 20 weeks along! Not that we want to have to use it, but it is nice to know it is there.

Soo after waking up early, Allisyn of course passed out on the way home. WooHoo! Nap for mom, right? Wrong. As soon as I got to sleep, I was awaken by my dogs going nuts and the cats getting freaked out because of it. THEN, I hear footsteps. On my roof. At first I told myself it was the cats running around upstairs. Then I remembered that there isn't anything above our bedroom. So I go outside and there is a roofing truck in the driveway and a ladder against my house. So I go around back and there is a guy on my roof.

We live on Place and he was supposed to be on Street. I can see the foreign guys who are delivering pizza getting confused at night in the dark. But a professional individual in the broad daylight should double check and make sure they have the right house before the scare the living daylights out of someone by walking around on their roof. Needless to say I could not get back to sleep after that. At least I got to rest with Allisyn.

Then we got up and enjoyed some time outside. We took a nice walk and then came home and played with sidewalk chalk in the driveway and blew some bubbles! Now we have about an hour and a half before dad gets home and hopefully she will keep her good mood.

OH, and how could I forget, it just happened. I was in here blogging and she went to the kitchen to what I thought was to trade spoons for her ice cream. After a few minutes, I asked her what she was doing and she jabbered. That should have been my clue to get up, but I didn't. The second time she didn't answer so I got up to go see what she was up to. She had a baby in a stroller and it was covered in ice cream. How sweet and sticky.

At least she shares, right?

YAY!!

After about 5 weeks of wearing contacts because Alli-bug broke my other glasses beyond repair, I FINALLY got them replaced. I actually got 2 pairs so I will hopefully not ever have to go through that again. It took me a good 30 minutes to get used to them again. I did not think it would be that much of a transition back, but it was. From now on, the glasses will be going into their case at night. That way when Allisyn decides to play with stuff on my night stand if I am really sick and not with it, I should be able to figure out she has my glasses and get them away from her immediately.

Question for you moms with kids around Allisyn's age. Do they sometimes go a day without naps? Allisyn has been really pushing her nap back lately. Sometimes so late it makes bed time a bit of a pain, but twice in the past week or so she has gone the entire day without a nap. She has been in a good mood for the most part of the days. She starts getting a little cranky in the evening, but hey so do I when I have been up over 10 hours! Do I need to be concerned that she is trying to give up her nap all together, or could it just be a phase? Please Lord, let it be a phase. I don't want to do 7 and 8 months pregnant with no nap, much less the first 2-3 months of Piper's life with no nap for Allisyn.
